The Conservation Volunteers
Last week, some of the Maples Teesdale team and the B Legal Circle got together for a volunteering day with The Conservation Volunteers at Lavender Ponds in SE London, helping to lay a path and build a new gate.
TCV is a UK charity that brings people together to protect and improve green spaces, creating benefits for both nature and local communities. Through practical conservation projects, it helps maintain and restore important habitats while encouraging people to get involved in the places where they live.
Lavender Ponds Nature Park is one of London's oldest urban nature reserves. Created in 1981 on the site of a former timber pond, it provides valuable habitat for wildlife and opportunities for local people to connect with nature in the heart of the city.
The B Legal Circle was formed in 2023 as a way for B Corps in the legal sector to connect, share ideas and learn from each other. Interestingly, despite having worked together for some time, this was the first opportunity for many of us to meet face-to-face.
We were lucky with the weather, enjoyed plenty of conversation, and exchanged ideas about the different ways our firms are making a positive difference. At the same time, we were able to make a practical contribution to the local community.
A great day, and a fitting first in-person gathering for a group united by a shared commitment to positive impact.
