The firm takes part in a variety of charitable activities and fundraising events

We are a member of the East End Community Foundation and support the London Legal Support Trust through taking part in annual events such as the Great Legal Bake and the London Legal Walk

Our trainees volunteer at a legal aid centre in central London, for which we received a nomination at the LawWorks Pro Bono Awards for Best contribution by a law firm. With our colleagues in the wider commercial property industry we take part in LandAid events and the Vertical Rush at Tower 42, which raises money for Shelter. We also compete in the annual ICAEW Tax Club Summer Treasure Hunt raising funds for TaxAid and MacMillan Cancer Support. Wrenbridge’s annual World Cup Football Day

Raising money for Send a Cow

Maples Teesdale took part in Wrenbridge’s annual World Cup Football Day in Linton, Cambridgeshire in the early hours on the 9th August to help raise money for Send a Cow

Send a cow is a a non profit organisation set to end hunger, achieve food security and improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture; by providing livestock and bringing communities together on common goals to support the national drive to reconciliation, in rural Africa.

The tournament generated enough donations to send eight cows to Rwanda, where they will be given to poverty stricken families/communities - they are then reared to provide milk for food and promote agricultural enhancement. This also mirrors Rwanda’s culture of girinka, in which dairy cows are given as a sign of gratitude or respect.

The program has reported to have reduced poverty and malnutrition among 350,000 households. Thank you to everyone who donated to this cause and congrats to the team who took part in the tournament!

Pride Month

Raising money for Stonewall

In honour of Pride, Maples Teesdale baked rainbow coloured cakes to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, and join the marching at the Pride parade, taking place in London on Saturday 6th July 2019.

Pride Month celebrates love, peace and acceptance. However, the history of the parade comes from less celebratory roots, tied with political activism and protests demanding equal rights. Since then it has ignited the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement, and snowballed into a much larger movement for the entire LGBT community.

Maples Teesdale are proud to support Pride Month and stand against discrimination and violence toward the LGBT community. All donations from cake sale went to help support Stonewall.
