Front‑Page Mornings — Coffee, toast, and today’s headlines

With not much happening in the world right now (!) - my day started with a breakfast event with the Guardian, part of the Fleet Street Quarter Festival of Words 2026.

Journalists from The Guardian reviewed the headlines of the day. The session featured Jenny Stevens, Dep Features Editor; Ben Quinn, Politics Correspondent; chaired by Ruth Lewy, Deputy Ed Guardian’s Weekend; and Aamna Mohdin, Community Affairs Correspondent.

Events in the Fleet Street Quarter Business Improvement District highlight a backdrop of major redevelopment, public‑realm investment, and sector‑driven growth, all of which shape the legal and transactional landscape.

As a real estate solicitor and being part of the media sector team, it was interesting to attend this panel discussion about the headline news of the day - barely anything to speak about…

Fleet Street Quarter is a Business Improvement District championing one of London’s most iconic areas. Spanning Fleet Street and its surrounding destinations - including Chancery Lane, Holborn, Ludgate Hill and New Street Square - the Quarter is collaboratively being shaped into a vibrant place to live, work and explore. This is an area alive with innovation, vision and a rich cultural history — a place where stories have always been born.
