Professional experience: 

  • Acted for the successful first defendant in the reported High Court case: PGF II S.A. and another v Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Plc and another [2010] involving a £5million claim for dilapidations
  • Acted for UK Commercial Property Trust Limited Partnership which was the landlord of Charter Place in Uxbridge in connection with the mediation of a substantial dilapidations claim.
  • Successfully agreed a surrender of a lease of premises in the City of London for Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Plc where the lease had 10 years left to run and the potential rental liability alone was in excess of £10 million had the lease continued.
  • Acted for Cineworld Cinemas in connection with a contentious application to assign a lease of cinema premises in Cambridge following on from Cineworld's acquisition of the Picturehouse chain of cinemas.
  • Obtained vacant possession for The Trustees of the 176-206 High Street Kensington Unit Trust (whose assets are managed by Standard Life Investments Limited) from administrators appointed by the Outdoor Group Limited (part of the Blacks Group Companies).
  • Acted for Rockspring in relation to the administration of DBC Food Services Limited and obtained a new lease between the landlord and DBC's guarantor once the tenant had gone into administration.
  • Acted for City University of London in relation to potential rights to light issues concerning various campus developments.
  • Advised The Collective in connection with the insolvency of the building contractor for the appointment of a new building contractor in relation to Old Oak Lane.
  • Acted for UK Commercial Property Estates Limited (whose assets are managed by Standard Life Investments Limited) in connection with the liquidation of a tenant which was part of the Thistle Hotel Group.
