Jon is a corporate real estate partner specialising in corporate acquisitions and disposals and on property joint ventures, including all forms of joint venture vehicles from private companies to all types of partnerships, LLPs and unit trusts. He has worked on a substantial number of corporate deals involving real estate vehicles, sales and purchases (SPVs and portfolios) and Jersey Property Unit Trusts (JPUTs) in multiple jurisdictions.
Professional experience:
- Advised Patrizia’s UK Value 2 fund on its sale (by way of the sale of shares in the Isle of Man property holding company) of Cambridge Research Park to Royal London for c. £78m, having also previously acted on its corporate purchase of the property for £21m
- Acted for Lord Sugar's Amsprop Estates on the sale, to private Middle Eastern investors, of the IBM Building on London's South Bank, for in excess of £100m. The sale was effected by way of a sale of the shares in the property holding company
- Advised Patrizia’s UK Value 2 fund on the sale (via the sale of shares in its Luxembourg property holding company) of the 191,000 sq ft “1 Tanfield” office complex in Edinburgh for £65.5m, having also previously advised on the corporate purchase of the property from Carlyle Group for £56m
- Acted for Greenergy, the UK's leading supplier of petrol and diesel, in connection with a joint venture relating to the production and refining of biofuel at a production facility in Immingham
- Acted for London & UK Property on the corporate aspects (including funding and management arrangements) associated with its purchase of The Globeworks in Birmingham (comprising c.520 bedrooms), as part of their pipeline of student accommodation developments
- Advising The Collective on property and asset management arrangements relating to certain of its co-living properties
