Chen Ikeogu
Profile:
Chen is a partner in the real estate finance team and the Industrial & Logistics sector team. Chen advises banks, other financial institutions, funds, family offices and borrowers involved in funding the acquisition, investment or development of property. Key sectors include student accommodation, mixed-use and residential development, PRS and hotels. General banking experience includes leveraged finance asset based lending, project finance and restructuring.
Professional experience:
- Advising a privately owned property company, Martins Properties, in connection with a £33m senior loan facility provided by Canada Life Investments for a mixed portfolio of properties in Chelsea
- Advising Tristan Capital Partners in connection with a £33m facility provided by Wells Fargo Bank N.A., to refinance the acquisition costs incurred to fund the corporate acquisition of a Luxembourg entity from CarVal Investors and secured on a 180,000 sq ft office building in Croydon
- Advising Maslow Capital in connection with a £25m facility to fund the acquisition and subsequent development of a property on the south side of Church Street, Manchester to create a 180 unit residential block
- Advising TPG (US private equity fund) in connection with a £200m investment in a UK development finance lending platform, to assist Maslow Capital in providing development finance in the UK residential market
- Advising London & UK Property in connection with a £20m development finance package provided by Hyde Park Finance (as senior lender) and Prosperity Capital Partners (as junior lender) to develop a 520 bed student accommodation scheme at The Globe works site, Birmingham and the forward sale of the freehold interest in the property to PGIM
