2005

|
| Action
Medical Research Challenges |
|
| On the weekend of 23rd/24th
July 2005 the first of two teams
from niche commercial property
law firm Maples Teesdale take
part in two different but equally
gruelling 24 hour challenges
to help raise money for Action
Medical Research. |
|
| The
first challenge will involve
team 1 climbing the 3 highest
peaks in the British Isles
- Scotland (Ben Nevis), England
(Scafell Pike) and Wales (Mount
Snowdon). The 3 Peaks Challenge.
The challenge to be completed
within 24 hours, will be undertaken
by Niki Aslam, Roger Garbett,
Garry King, Kirsty Watt and
Matthew Yates with Chris Wilkinson
as designated driver - the
team does get to drive between
the peaks as walking that bit
too would be a tall order. |
|
 |
|
|
|
| Team
2 (Ewen Cameron, Declan Power, Chris
Wilkinson and Kate Wheeler) have a few
more weeks of hard training in front
of them before they attempt to “race
the sun” on 10th September. This
will involve starting as the sun rises
on a 50 mile bike ride through the Cumbrian
countryside, climbing Helvellyn (England’s
second highest mountain) and paddling
a 2 mile canoe course across Lake Thirlmere,
all to be completed before the sun sets. |
|
| Both
events promise to be huge challenges
for all those involved but hopefully
the hard work will also involve a lot
of fun. If anyone is interested in
sponsoring the teams, please contact
Kate Wheeler on 020 7421 6451 |
